USC Upstate: Turning in a career-high scoring performance in her first career start, freshman guard
Gwen Jenkins poured in 21 points Saturday at Gardner-Webb, posting the highest-scoring game by a Big South freshman this season. She finished the day with career-highs for field goals made (seven), three-pointers made (four), and free throws made (three) while playing a career-long 25 minutes.
High Point: Sweeping the Big South weekly awards, junior forward Nevaeh Zavala and freshman guard Dom Nesland captured Player and Freshman of the Week honors, respectively, Monday afternoon. Zavala averaged 25.0 points per game—scoring 33 and 17 in two games—while Nesland averaged 11.0 points per game—scoring 12 and 10 in two games.
