HIGH POINT, N.C. – On the road to close the team's second of three multi-game Big South Conference road swings, USC Upstate women's basketball fell Wednesday evening, dropping an 84-31 decision at High Point.
Junior guard
Jeni Levine paced the Spartans offensively, finishing with a team-best nine points, including seven markers from the free throw line. She led Upstate on the glass, corralling a career-best eight boards while adding an assist and a steal. Slotting behind Levine on the box score, redshirt junior forward
Zora Fray-Chinn tied her season-high with five points. All in all, nine Spartans notched markers on the evening.
Hitting the boards, Upstate pulled in 34 rebounds Wednesday, going north of 30 boards off the glass for the seventh straight contest. On the season, the Spartans register 17 games with 30 or more rebounds.

How It Happened
First Quarter
- Opening the day's scoring, Cassie Gallagher knocked down a pull-up jumper on the Spartans' first possession. Jeni Levine followed High Point's first bucket with a pair of free throws before the Panthers ended the quarter on a 24-0 scoring run.
Second Quarter
- Spanning the period break, High Point upped its scoring run to a game-long 27-0, draining a three to open the second. Zora Fray-Chinn snapped the run for the Spartans, hitting a three of her own before she and Gwen Jenkins answered with the first of two 4-0 runs in the quarter. Upstate's second run saw Gallagher hit another pull-up ahead of a pair of Levine free throws.
Third Quarter
- Bridging the half, High Point fashioned an 11-0 run between the second and third stanzas before upping the stretch to 19-2, ultimately outscoring Upstate 21-4 in the quarter. Upstate's field goals came from Rebekah Gordon and Lele Tanuvasa.
Fourth Quarter
- Beginning the quarter's scoring, Levine drained a pull-up jumper from the top of the key, kickstarting the Spartans' highest-scoring stanza. The Spartans held High Point without a field goal for the first five minutes of the final period, permitting just three total in the quarter. Five Spartans scored in the stanza led by five from Levine.
Notable
- Pulling in 34 rebounds, Upstate fashioned its seventh straight game securing 30 or more boards. The game marks the 17th contest with 30-plus rebounds—in 19 games—this season.
