SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Following a historic season with Upstate Men's Soccer, the Major League Soccer has announced the eligible player list for the 2026 MLS SuperDraft on Thursday, December 18. Teams will have up to 436 players to select from representing 150 different schools. Sophomore Forward, Oskar Kaufmann is among the players who will draft eligible players going into December 18th.
Kaufmann recently wrapped up his first season with Upstate Men's Soccer and his second collegiate season, previously being a member of NCAA Division II, Coker University, where he was named SAC Freshman of the Year. Kaufmann continued his excellence on the pitch at the Division I level with the familiarity of having Head Coach Michael Antoniewicz at the helm at Coker and Upstate. Kaufmann's season at Upstate displayed how much he was eager to perform in the big moments beginning in aiding Upstate in defeating the University of South Carolina on August 29th in front of 5,000+ fans on the road scoring his first goal of the season. Kaufmann continued to grow where he added his lone assist in the crosstown rivalry win against Wofford. Oskar Kaufmann turned up the heat on the pitch where he entered Big South play with a brace performance in the Ingles I-26 rivalry helping Upstate shutout UNC Asheville in the conference opener. Kaufmann followed with a goal in the conference win at Winthrop and proceeded to go on a three-match streak of scoring a goal giving the Spartans a chance for postseason play. As Upstate qualified for the 2025 Big South Men's Soccer Championships as the No. 5 seed, Kaufmann displayed a historic performance in the first round where he scored four goals, tying Gordon Wild for the most goals scored in a single match during the Division I era, pushing the Spartans to the Semi-finals for the first time since 2022. Oskar Kaufmann finished the season with the most goals scored in a season (11) since Mario Arrocha during the 2021 season and was named Big South First Team All-Conference and to the Big South All-Tournament Team. Through two seasons in his collegiate career, Kaufmann has netted 24 goals and added 54 points proving that his impact is heard loudly no matter where he goes.
