SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Welcoming hundreds of screaming children and many local schools into the G.B. Hodge Center as part of the Spartans' Ingles Education Day presented by BASF, USC Upstate women's basketball put forth a historic effort in the club's final home game of the calendar year. The Spartans broke the 100-point barrier for the first time since the 2021-22 season in their 112-39 win over Agnes Scott Wednesday afternoon.
Leading to the program's Division I era (2007-pres.) single-game scoring record, all 12 Spartans found themselves in the scoring column while hitting at least one field goal—the second time Upstate has accomplished the feat in 2025-26. A program single-game record 19 three-pointers, part of D1 era record 46 made field goals, propelled the Spartans' scoring total. Upstate also assisted on 32 of the team's 46 field goals with the 32 assists also representing a D1 era single-game record.
Five Spartans ended the afternoon in double-figures, headlined by 23 points from redshirt junior guard
Aubrie Kierscht who splashed a career-high seven three-pointers and eight field goals. Redshirt sophomore forward
Emma Blair, freshman guard
Kinley Paterson, junior guard
Macy Wike, and sophomore guard
Lexi Castator also notched double-figures with 12, 12, 12, and 11 points, respectively. Castator, Paterson, Wike along with sophomore forward
Zoe Richardson and freshman guard
Jessa Troy each posted a career-high scoring mark.
Orchestrating the Spartan offense, Paterson dished out a career-best nine assists—against zero turnovers—nearly notching her first career double-double. Castator collected six apples and Richardson five, both career-high marks.

How It Happened
First Quarter
- Hitting the first of her seven made three-pointers, Aubrie Kierscht kickstarted the day's scoring for the Spartans and a stretch where the two sides traded triples. Upstate snapped the back-and-forth scoring with a 7-0 scoring run comprised of a Kierscht trey, Emma Blair jumper, and Lexi Castator layup.
- Growing its advantage, Upstate fashioned a 10-0 scoring stretch spanning the game's first media stoppage, growing the lead to 17, the largest of the quarter. A Blair layup before the timeout began the run, before a Macy Wike three, a Zoe Richardson hook shot, and another Kierscht three closed the run.
Second Quarter
- Spanning the quarter break, Upstate connected the day's longest scoring run by notching the first 22 markers of the second period. Kierscht paced the run with eight points, followed closely by six points from Castator.
- Ending a nearly nine-minute drought without a field goal, Agnes Scott snapped the Upstate scoring run with a layup. The Spartans, however, responded with five straight points, further expanding their lead.
Third Quarter
- Beginning the new half much like the first half began with back-and-forth scoring, Upstate held the slight advantage before stringing together the third quarter's first instance of successive field goals, both layups from Aijah Palmore. Agnes Scott countered with a layup at 5:32, its final field goal of the period.
- Split by a pair of Scottie free throws, the Spartans closed the half on an 18-2 scoring stretch, posting a 10-0 and 8-0 scoring run. Jessa Troy proved a catalyst for the stretch, scoring all nine of her points on the day, hitting three triples.
Fourth Quarter
- Beginning the final stanza, Agnes Scott strung together its longest scoring run, scoring the first five points of the fourth quarter. The Scotties also closed the game with the final five points with a 21-0 Upstate run in between—the Spartans' second 20-plus point run of the day.
- During the Spartans' 21-0 scoring stretch, Macy Wike scored nine of her 12 points, knocking down three treys in the sequence.
Notable
- Pouring in a Division I era (2007-pres.) record 112 points—tied for the second-most in a single game in program history—Upstate registered a program record 19 made three-pointers and a D1 era record 46 made field goals Wednesday versus Agnes Scott. The Spartans also dished out a D1 era record 32 assists, one shy of the program record mark.
- Leading the Spartans with a career-high nine assists, Kinley Paterson's assist total marked the most in a single game by a Spartan since March 7, 2024, when Trinity Johnson passed out 10 versus Longwood.
- Corralling 10 rebounds, Aijah Palmore recorded her second straight double-digit rebounding game, her fifth of the season. Registering five rebounds, Vera Söderblom pushed her streak of games with five-plus rebounds to 10.
