MT. PLEASANT, S.C. – USC Upstate women's golf made the three and a half hour drive down to Mt. Pleasant for the RiverTowne Invitational, finishing 9th out of 14th.
Madison Dixon had a standout performance, finishing the tournament tied for eighth shooting 76-72-73 for a total of 221. Maintaining her performance on the second day of the tournament, she scored even on 15 of 18 holes. Dixon finished the tournament with eight birdies.
Placing in the top 25 was
Rylie Kosney, shooting 74-78-75 for a total of 227. Both
Alexis Rieli and
Supatta Puttanavarat earned top 50 finishes.
Head Coach
Todd Lawton was proud of the team's effort, stating "Lots of good from this tournament. Madison's performance was so impressive considering her start in the opening round. She showed incredible composure and consistency. Each player contributed and while we have so much work to do, we saw a competitive side that we can build on!".
UP Next for the Spartans
The Spartans will compete in the Low Country Intercollegiate held on Hilton Head Island March 21-23rd.
