SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Facing a familiar opponent as it begins play at the 2025 Hercules Tires Big South Women's Basketball Championship, USC Upstate women's basketball meets Longwood in Johnson City, Tenn. Thursday. The two programs ended the regular season against one another last Saturday, a 62-60 overtime win for the Spartans, and opened the 2024 Hercules Tires Big South Championship against one another in last season's quarterfinals.

USC Upstate: Ending the regular season with a career-best performance (25 points and seven made three-pointers) against the Lancers, redshirt freshman guard
Cassie Gallagher cemented her selection as the Big South's Freshman of the Year with the highest-scoring game by a league freshman in 2024-25. She led all conference freshmen in scoring (15
th overall) and three-pointers made (third overall) and captured Honorable Mention All-Big South and Big South All-Freshman Team honors as well.
Longwood: With Big South Postseason Awards announced Tuesday, graduate student guard Kiki McIntyre brought home Big South Defensive Player of the Year accolades. She leads the NCAA in steals, swiping 121 on the season, an average of 4.03 per game. Offensively, she contributes 10.1 points and 4.0 rebounds per game.
