CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Opening the new week, the Big South Conference announced weekly awards for Men's Soccer where Vitalis Takawira Jr. did not go unnoticed being announced as the Co-Offensive Player of the Week.
The Senior from Harare, Zimbabwe has begun to find his footing displaying what Head Coach Michael Antoniewicz knew he would be capable of when bringing him to the NCAA Division I level at Upstate. Prior to joining the Spartans, Takawira Jr. Was a member of NCAA Division II, Coker University coached by Michael Antoniewicz where he was a SAC All-Conference second team selection. Vitalis Takawira Jr. Came to USC Upstate looking for a fresh start proving that he could succeed on any level. During the week of September 15 through September 21st, Takawira Jr. Was the engine for the offense displaying a brace performance in the 3-2 win over Wofford, where the two goals were scored within 18 seconds. Vitalis Takawira Jr. followed with a Big South opening performance assisting two of the four goals in the win against UNC Asheville. Vitalis Takawira Jr. Looks to continue his consistency earning his first accolade of the season being named Co-Offensive Player of the Week.
