SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Back home after a two-game road swing to begin a two-game homestand, USC Upstate women's basketball fell to Radford, 67-29, on Wednesday at the G.B. Hodge Center.

Cassie Gallagher paced the Spartans offensively, pouring in a team-high seven points. Just behind her on the box score, sophomore guard
Lexi Castator dropped five markers as she and Gallagher knocked down Upstate's lone three-pointers. Eight Spartans ended the evening in the scoring column, five of whom scored four-plus points.
On the glass, Upstate corralled 36 rebounds, eclipsing the 30-rebound plateau for the 19
th straight game and 20

How It Happened
First Quarter
- Opening the game, Radford forged an 18-0 run, the game's longest, before Zoe Richardson snapped the run with a free-throw line jumper with 1:05 to play in the quarter.
Second Quarter
- The Spartans opened the second period with the first five markers as a Vera Söderblom layup preceded a Cassie Gallagher three. Adding another layup, Söderblom upped the Upstate scoring stretch to 7-2 to begin the quarter.
- Swinging momentum back in their favor, Radford closed the half on a 10-3 stretch. Emma Blair hit a free throw to go with a pull-up jumper from Kinley Paterson, notching the Spartan markers.
Third Quarter
- Spanning the halftime break, Radford fashioned a 10-0 scoring run, ultimately broken by a pair of Gallagher free throws. The free throws started an 8-2 Upstate run, seeing the Spartans hold the Highlanders without a field goal for nearly four minutes.
- The Highlanders countered the run with back-to-back threes, closing the frame with a 10-2 run, hitting three triples.
Fourth Quarter
- Answering a Radford layup to begin the final period, Zora Fray-Chinn and Lexi Castator reeled off five straight markers, a layup from Fray-Chinn and three from Castator.
- Radford closed the game on a 14-2 scoring stretch with the lone Upstate field goal coming via layup from Castator.
Notable
- Snapping a streak of seven straight conference games with a +8 or better rebounding margin, Upstate and Radford tied on the glass, each corralling 36 rebounds. The game marked the 19th straight contest Upstate totaled 30 or more rebounds.
