
Alyssa Davenport’s weekend in the Sunshine State surges her being named the Big South Freshman of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Entering a new week, the Big South Conference announced the weekly award winners for Softball for the week of Mar. 2-8 as Alyssa Davenport earned her first career weekly award with being named Big South Freshman of the Week.Â
The Freshman from Cleveland, Tennessee appeared and started in four games where she was second on the team with a .462 batting average and went 6-for-13 at bat. Davenport continues to adjust into her role as a do it all player, adding one double, six putouts and opened the four-game slate going 3-for-3 at the plate. As Alyssa Davenport's versatility continues to display, she has adjusted well through 24 games batting .356, adding 26 hits, 17 RBI, one home run, 16 runs scored, five doubles, one triple, five stolen bases, .939 fielding percentage and 22 putouts. Following Davenport's impactful weekend at bat, she moved to #3 on the team with seven multi-hit games (four games with two hits and three games with three hits) and fourth with five multi-RBI games (four games with two and one with three). As the season continues to grow inching closer to Big South play, Alyssa Davenport adds her first weekly honor of her collegiate career.Â
