SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Expanding the coaching staff, Head Coach Sam Odell has announced the hiring of Eli Feuer as assistant coach.
Feuer joins the Spartans after a season at Troy University as assistant coach and head goalkeeper coach. While with the Trojans, he coached the starting goalkeeper, Taylor Richards, to two Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week honors, marking the first Troy goalkeeper since 2014 to win the weekly award twice. Feuer also led the team to a 1.08 goals-against average for the season.
Additionally, Feuer led the recruiting efforts for goalkeeping prospects for the 2026 and 2027 classes. He established new recruitment pipelines with elite clubs across U.S. and internationally.
Prior to Troy, Feuer served as the volunteer assistant coach and goalkeeper coach of New College of Florida, leading goalkeeper training sessions and assisting with full team training.
For five years, he was the assistant coach and head goalkeeper coach of IMG Academy Soccer. His role at IMG included leading the entire goalkeeper training and development for 80-plus goalkeepers in the U12-U19 age range.
Throughout his time with IMG Academy, Feuer also designed and executed goalkeeper curriculum aligned with IMG's methodology. Feuer trained goalkeepers who went on to play for Major League Soccer, USL, US National Team, and at all three levels of NCAA collegiate competition.
From 2018-2020, he served as assistant coach and head goalkeeper at Bexley High School in Columbus, Ohio.
Feuer began his career as a District and State Goalkeeper and Talent ID Staff member for ODP Ohio South, working there from 2017-2020.
He earned his degree in Human Development & Family Studies from Ohio State University in 2020. Feuer played collegiate soccer for Earlham College from 2014-2015 and Wilmington College from 2015-2017.
