Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate men's soccer team will hit the road for its second straight match to open the season when it travels to Boiling Springs, N.C., to take on Gardner-Webb in a non-conference battle Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. at the Gardner-Webb Soccer Stadium.
Upstate enters the game with a 0-1-0 record after dropping a thrilling overtime match at Presbyterian to open the season last Friday night. Upstate fell behind 2-0 but battled back with three straight goals to open a 3-2 lead. The Blue Hose tied it up late and scored a minute into overtime to take the win.
Gardner-Webb enters the game with a 1-1-0 record. The Bulldogs claimed a 5-4 win in overtime over Wofford in their season opener before dropping a 2-1 decision to Georgia Southern on Sunday.
Upstate owns a 4-2-2 lead in the all-time series which dates back to the 1996 season. The teams last met in 2010 with Gardner-Webb taking a 1-0 decision.
