Spartanburg, S.C. – Alec Paradowski's two-run single in the seventh inning lifted Wofford to a 3-2 come-from-behind victory over USC Upstate Wednesday evening from King Field.

Josh Hyman started the rally with a one-out single up the middle to break a streak of 14 straight hitters set down by Upstate starting pitcher Dylan Parker. Shortstop Derek Hirsch followed with a bunt single on the infield before Matt Ramsey followed with a single to left to drive in Hyman with the Terriers' first run. After a balk moved both runners up one base, Paradowski laced a single just out of the reach of a diving Daniel Fickas to give Wofford the lead.

Upstate threated in the ninth with a runner on second base and two outs, but Wofford reliever Eric Eck picked up his ninth save of the season when he retired Daniel Fickas with a lineout to centerfield that nearly dropped in for a hit.

Jacob Condra-Bogan picked up the win after pitching two perfect innings in relief of starting pitcher Luke Leftwich.

Parker suffered the loss despite a second consecutive strong outing for the right-hander, allowing just three runs on seven hits to go along with six strikeouts. Jordan Miller pitched the eighth inning and struck out two of the three batters he faced.

Upstate right fielder Tyler Lesch led off the game with an opposite field double down the left field line and came around to score two batters later when Erik Samples picked up his 15th double of the season with a shot down the right field line. Luke Weber followed with a sharp single into right field to run his hitting streak to eight games.

The Spartans were the beneficiaries of two wild pitches in the third inning that resulted in another run and a 2-0 lead. AJ Mackey was awarded first base after being hit by a pitch and moved to second following a walk to Samples. Mackey then took third on a wild pitch and raced home three pitches later on a second errant pitch.

Upstate returns to the diamond Wednesday at 7 p.m. when the Spartans travel to Columbia, S.C., to face South Carolina from Carolina Stadium. The game will be televised live by Fox Sports South.
