SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The USC Upstate men's soccer team will be on the road this Tuesday, October 22
nd against Liberty University.
USC Upstate (3-10) and Liberty University (4-10) will face off for the fourth time in program history. The Eagles lead the series against the Spartans with two wins and one loss. The last time the Spartans and Eagles met, the Spartans were able to come up on top with a 3-2 victory back in 2017.
The Spartans are coming off a 1-3 road loss to Presbyterian College on Saturday night.
Aidan Hill scored his first goal of the season off a pass into the box from
Michael Chappelear.
Luca Bulfon record two saves on the night to bring his season total to 31. Bulfon now ranks sixth in the Big South Conference in total saves and ranks fourth in the Big South in saves per game.
The Eagles are on a four game losing streak coming off a 0-2 loss to Florida Gulf Coast on Saturday evening. The Eagles top point scorer is Seth Clark, who has netted one goal for the Eagles along with three assists on the season. The top goal scorers are Musa Morris, and Tyler Welch, each of these players has two goals on the season.
In goal for the Eagles is Danny Cordero, who has played in nearly 1,000 minutes this season. Cordero has a record of 3-7 and has recorded 25 saves with a GAA of 1.73.
The Spartans and Eagles will look to spark life into their teams and make a late-season run as both teams will go to battle tomorrow night.
