SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The USC Upstate volleyball team has been counting down the days since they lost to Limestone earlier in the season when they travel up the road to Gaffney, S.C. tomorrow night for a 7 p.m. showdown with the Saints.
Earlier this season USC Upstate was stunned by Limestone when they came into the Eddie and Ann Payne Arena and walked away with a five set win over the Spartans. A trio of Spartans had double-digit kills in the contest with
Emily Russell leading the way with 14 on the night. Fellow seniors
Gloria Ikenegbu and
Mackenzie Lauer each contributed a dozen kills in the match. Freshman

The Spartans are looking to rebound after a setback against UNC Asheville in conference competition. Once again Russell led the Spartans attack with 11 kills on the afternoon.

Since the Saints started their conference portion of play they have turned it up another notch with an 8-1 record over Conference Carolina foes.
