SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The USC Upstate women's volleyball team fell 3-1 (25-12, 25-16, 23-25, 25-17) to Presbyterian College on Friday night at the Eddie and Ann Payne Arena located inside the G.B. Hodge Center.
Senior middle blocker
Emily Russell led the Spartan attack with 18 kills and six total blocks on the night. Fellow senior
Gloria Ikenegbu contributed seven kills and freshman outside hitter
Courtney Coffy contributed a career high seven kills and nine digs in the match.
Scout Hoffemier recorded a team high 20 assits and
Mackenzie Marcum contributed a team 19 digs in the contest. As a team the Spartans won the battle up front with 10 blocks in the match. USC Upstate also had a .873 serving and a .927 receiving percentage in the contest.
The game included 12 lead changes and was tied on 21 different occasions. Lauren Talbert led the Blue Hose attack with a double-double on the night. Talbert led Presbyterian with 14 kills and recorded 12 digs in the contest. Erin Cooke recorded a different kind of double-double with 23 assists and 13 digs in the contest. Erin Eulitz led the Blue Hose with 25 digs in the contest.
The USC Upstate volleyball team will have a short turn around as they battle Charleston Southern tomorrow afternoon at 2 p.m.
