JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville University women's basketball team topped the Upstate Spartans on School Day at Historic Swisher Gymnasium in Jacksonville on Tuesday morning, 87-43. Breanna Lewis (Sr., Chicago, Ill.) and
Michaela Gibbons (Jr., Troutman, N.C.) led Upstate with 11 points each.
The Dolphins (3-2) took control during a 15-0 run in the 3
rd quarter and never looked back. JU had four players in double figures including Destiny Marshall and Shalonda Neely each with 17 points to lead all scorers.
Up next for Upstate (3-2) is a date with one of the nation's top teams, the 5/10
th ranked South Carolina Gamecocks at Colonial Life Arena in Columbia, S.C., Thursday at 7:00 p.m. The Spartans three game road trip concludes November 26 at Georgia.
The Spartans will host South Carolina State on Saturday, December 14
