Series History
This is the second all-time meeting between USC Upstate and Hampton with the Pirates holding a 1-0 advantage in the series. Hampton took the last meeting between the two teams on January 29, 2019 with a 67-43 win in Hampton, Va.
Riley Popplewell recorded her ninth career double-double in the loss with a 14-point, 13-rebound performance to lead the Spartans in both categories. It was her second consecutive double-double. The Pirates were led by Laren Vanarsdale with 18 points and Ashley Bates with 16 points. Mahaley Holt had 11 assists while Kaylah Lupoe and Charlisa Jenkins each collected 10 rebounds.

UPSTATE – The Spartans will be looking to snap a season-high five-game losing streak Tuesday night after a 70-62 loss to Longwood Saturday afternoon.
Riley Popplewell was perfect from the free throw line to set a career-high 15 free throws made in a game and led the Spartans with a season-high 17 points.
Barrett Herring notched her first career double-double with a career-high 13 rebounds and 16 points.
Hampton – Hampton is coming off a 68-31 loss to Campbell on Saturday. The Pirates were held to just five points in both the second and fourth periods of the game. Hampton freshman Nylah Young led the Pirates with 11 points and nine rebounds on the day.
Ones to watch
UPSTATE – Herring is coming off a career week that saw a career-high 17 points, a career-high 13 rebounds, and her first career double-double. She is currently averaging 7.7 points per game, 3.8 rebounds per game, and 1.5 blocks per game. Popplewell still leads the squad in rebounds with 105 total and 7.0 per game.
Quadijah Moore is picking up 1.2 blocks per game and has 18 on the season.
Hampton – Vanarsdale is Hampton's leading scorer with 224 total points and 14.9 points per game. She ranks sixth in Big South scoring so far this season and is also picking up 3.9 assists per game. Young leads the Pirates in rebounds with 93, averaging 6.2 per game. Bates has 52 steals on the year with an average of 3.5 per game.
