SPARTANBURG, S.C. - An official statement from head USC Upstate cross country coach Carson Blackwelder in response to the Big South Conference delaying the 2020 fall sports seasons:

"We are disappointed that we won't have a cross country season. The athletes have been training all summer in hopes of getting back to competition this fall. We now have to refocus and find other training goals. We will focus on becoming better overall runners for the track season."

The Big South intends to play fall sports in the spring of 2021.
