Series History
Meeting Saturday, Upstate and Longwood embark on the teams' fourth all-time meeting in a series that began in 2018 when the Spartans joined the Big South Conference. The Spartans lead the series 2-0-1, capturing each of the prior two meetings in the series 1-0 in 2019 and 2020 after playing to a 2-2 draw in the series opener in 2018.

Ones to Watch
Upstate: Scoring a pair of goals and tallying a pair of assists, redshirt junior forward
Mario Arrocha enters Saturday's match as the Spartans' leading point scorer, totaling six on the year. He also leads Upstate in shot attempts and shot attempts on goal, taking 14 shots with five landing on target. Arrocha's two goals in 2021 have come in key moments, scoring a PK against Georgia State and the game-winning goal against Furman.
Longwood: Midfielder Markus Gronli enters Saturday's match as the Lancers' leading scorer, totaling four goals and two assists in 2021. He opened Big South play last weekend with a goal and two assists against UNC Asheville before adding another goal against NC State in a midweek contest.
Next UP for the Spartans
After opening Big South play at home, Upstate hits the road for the first time in conference play, travelling to High Point for a midweek match on October 6.
