Series History
Saturday's meeting between USC Upstate and Wake Forest marks the first between the two programs since Upstate's first season (2007-08) at the Division I level. The Spartans and Demon Deacons last met on Dec. 1, 2007, as Wake Forest took the meeting 72-48 in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Players to Watch
Upstate: Scoring in double-figures in seven of eight games this season, including a team-high-tying 15 points against Western Carolina, senior forward Bryson Mozone enters Saturday's game ranked fifth in the Big South in scoring, averaging 14.4 points per game. Ranking fifth in the conference in field goal percentage (42.7 percent), he is one of two players in the Big South to rank top-five in both statistical categories.
 
Wake Forest: Posting double-figures in all nine games this season following a transfer from Oklahoma, guard Alondes Williams is averaging a team-high 18.4 points per game this season, scoring 20 or more points on four occasions. Williams also enters Saturday's contest leading the Demon Deacons in rebounding, averaging 5.8 boards per game.
