Series History
Entering Saturday's game, USC Upstate and UNC Greensboro have met twice previously in the Upstate Spartans' Division I era (2007-pres.). In the Battle of the Spartans, it is Upstate who has been victorious, taking both meetings as the programs met during the 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons. The series' last meeting came on December 1, 2015, with Upstate claiming victory 84-61.

Players to Watch
Upstate: Tying a game-high with 17 points at Western Carolina Wednesday, junior guard Chellia Watson became the first Spartan to lead Upstate in scoring in consecutive games this season. Her 17 points against the Catamounts followed her career-high 30 point outing versus Mars Hill as she's averaged 23.5 points while shooting 66.7 percent from the field over the last two games.
 
UNCG: Scoring 12 points and grabbing 12 rebounds Wednesday versus Presbyterian, forward Isys Grady recorded her second double-double of the year, leading the Spartans against the Blue Hose. She enters Saturday's game as UNCG's leading scorer, averaging 13.1 points per game while ranking second on the Spartan club with 8.3 boards per game.
 
UP Next for the Spartans
After opening its homestand Saturday, Upstate continues its three-game homestand after a week-plus break. The Spartans host Jacksonville at the Hodge on December 13 with tip-off slated for 6 p.m. ET.
