SPARTANBURG, S.C. – USC Upstate cross country finished its final race of the regular season in the form of the Annual Upstate Cross Country Invitational, ran at Roger Milliken Center.  

The men's team finished 5th of out 13 competing teams. Noah White led the Spartans and cracked a top 15 finish, coming in 12th with a time of 25:29.1. White improved his time on the Roger Milliken course by 28 seconds, beating his time from the Eye Opener which was earlier this season (25:57.8). Caleb Bayne, Nigel Dos Santos, Sam Shaminsky, Carter Sexton, Gabe Herron, and Chris Post all improved their times as well since their last competition at Roger Milliken Center. Dos Santos reduced his time by over a minute as did Post and Herron.

In the women's 5k race, Allie Leavitt led the Spartans with a top 10 finish, coming in fourth with a time of 18:39.5. Grace Miller, Laura Yarborough, and Elise Wilcher all improved their times since last competing on the Roger Milliken course; Wilcher cut her time by just over two minutes.

Upstate women's cross country alumni, Dara Doran also competed in the Upstate Invitational and finished 66th with a time of 21:30.6. As for the men's cross country alumni, we saw familiar faces on the course including Griffin Eubanks who earned First Team All-Conference honors during his time at USC Upstate. Jacob Coccia led the men's cross country alumni, finishing 30th with a time of 26:18.5 Coccia placed in the top 20 in the 3000m and 5000m at the 2020 Big South Indoor Championships and finished 8th in the 2019 Big South Outdoor Championships for the steeplechase. Also making an appearance on the course was recent graduate and former SAAC President, Michael Tardella. During his senior year, Tardella was selected to represent USC Upstate at the NCAA Career in Sports Forum,
