Spartanburg, S.C. – The Spartans pulled out a late 1-0 win in the bottom of the seventh inning to beat Canisius for the second time and progress their win streak to 9-0.
USC Upstate came into its second game with Canisius following an 8-0, fifth-inning win on Sunday afternoon. The game held a steady zero-zero score for six straight innings until Casey Goguts hit a double in the bottom of the seventh, allowing Madison Lanoux to score the single run of the game. Alyssa Kelly started on the mound for Upstate, pitching five innings until Hannah Houge stepped in the finish the remaining two.
