Series History
Pitting the two programs who joined the Big South ahead of the 2018-19 season, USC Upstate and Hampton are meeting for the seventh time in series history during the Spartans' Division I era (2007-pres.). The Pirates captured the first four meetings in the series with the Spartans taking each of the last two, including Thursday's game at Upstate.

Players to Watch
Upstate: Posting 19-points to lead Upstate against Hampton Thursday, senior guard Denijsha Wilson posted her second double-figure scoring game of the season behind a season-high scoring total. Her 19 points marked Upstate's eighth double-figure scoring game from a player coming off the bench—her second of the season. In addition to her season-high scoring total, she pulled in a season-best six boards versus Hampton.
 
Hampton: Scoring a game-high 24 points Thursday against Upstate, forward Nylah Young upped her season scoring average to 16.4 points per game behind her 13^th double-figure scoring game of the season. She enters Saturday's contest ranked fourth in the Big South in scoring while ranking second in the league in scoring (20.6 ppg) during conference play.
 
UP Next for the Spartans
Following its home-and-home series with Hampton, Upstate embarks on another home-and-home series, adding in the element of doing so on back-to-back days next week. The Spartans travel to Winthrop Tuesday before hosting the Eagles Wednesday at the G.B. Hodge Center.
