SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Following up its Division I era (2007-pres.) single-game record six home runs against Gardner-Webb Wednesday, USC Upstate baseball slugged three more homers Friday evening en route to a second straight 12-run game in a 12-7 win over North Carolina A&T at Cleveland S. Harley Park.
After seeing a run come in on a groundout to begin the game's scoring, redshirt sophomore third baseman
Noah Rabon and redshirt sophomore shortstop
Troy Hamilton swatted back-to-back homers to build a four-run first inning. The Spartans added another run in the second and in the fourth to craft an 8-0 lead heading into the fifth.
The Aggies scratched three runs in the fifth to cut into the Upstate lead before the Spartans tacked on four more runs in the seventh, including two on redshirt junior rightfielder
Adam Grob's first longball of the season. North Carolina A&T attempted a comeback in the ninth, scoring four runs to pull the game to its 12-7 final score.

Scoring Summary
- B1: Following back-to-back hits from Devin Buckner (double) and Noah Myers (1B), Noah Sullivan drove home his first run on a groundout to short. The Spartans immediately brought in two more tallies as Noah Rabon hit a two-run homer to the left of the scoreboard before Troy Hamilton made it back-to-back jacks with a solo shot into the leftfield corner.
- B2: Driving in his second run, Sullivan lifted a ball into centerfield that scored Adam Grob via a sac fly before a throwing error allowed Buckner and Myers to race around the base paths and score, bringing Upstate's lead to 7-0.
- B4: With runners on the corners and no outs, an eighth Spartan run came in on a double play ball as Upstate opened the game with eight unanswered runs.
- T5: Using three straight two-out singles, North Carolina A&T scored three runs behind RBI singles from Camden Jackson, Chet Sikes, and Bret Mersman. Upstate avoided additional damage as a runner was caught stealing at the plate trying to score on a would-be wild pitch.
- B7: Seeing the first three batters of the inning reach base with a single, walk, and single Upstate posted four total runs in the inning. Grant Sherrod's single through the left side drove in the first run before an Easton Cullison sac fly plated the second. The biggest hit of the inning came as Adam Grob hammered a two-run shot to left.
- T9: The Aggies opened the ninth with three straight hits, including an RBI triple from Sabin Roane and an RBI single from Cameran Brantley pushed across two runs. Jackson added a third run with an RBI single ahead of a wild pitch bringing home the final tally.
Notable
- Hitting back-to-back home runs in the first inning, Noah Rabon and Troy Hamilton secured Upstate's second instance of hitting back-to-back homers this season. For Rabon, it marks the second time he's been a part of back-to-back homers this year, pairing with Noah Sullivan to go back-to-back against Manhattan on Feb. 25.
- Scoring 12 runs again Friday night, Upstate has scored double-digit runs in consecutive games for the second time this season after tallying 12 runs against Gardner-Webb Wednesday. The back-to-back 10-plus run games join games two and three against Charleston Southern as the only instances of back-to-back double-digit scoring games.
- Drawing a walk in his final plate appearance Friday, Noah Sullivan extended his team-long reached base streak to 23 games. The streak marks the longest for a Spartan since Noah Rabon crafted a 29-game streak last season.
