Players to Watch
USC Upstate:
Pitcher: Setting the tone for the Spartans' series against High Point last Friday night, senior right-hander
Jacob Curry authored a career-best outing in leading Upstate to a 6-3 series-opening victory. Tossing his second quality start of the season, he pitched a career-long 8.0 innings using a career-best 112 pitches while scattering five hits and two runs against the Panthers. He stuck out a career-high six batters with four of his six strikeouts ending the inning, including bookending the sixth with a pair of strikeouts. On the year, Curry owns a 2-1 record and a 4.54 ERA while collecting 24 strikeouts against eight walks over seven starts.
Position Player: Setting the table at the top of the order for the Spartans, senior rightfielder
Noah Myers enters the weekend leading the Big South in runs scored and stolen bases, scoring 33 times while swiping 15 bags in 16 attempts. He is riding a nine-game hitting streak and a 12-game reached base streak into the Campbell series and has stolen at least one base in three of the last four games. Myers' 15 stolen bases this season are the most by a player in a single season under head coach
Mike McGuire and are the second-most by a Spartan in a season in the D1 era.

Campbell
Pitcher: Leading to his conference-leading fourth Big South Pitcher of the Week honor, righty Thomas Harrington tossed his seventh quality start of the year as he pitched 6.0 innings, scattering four hits and one run against Gardner-Webb while striking out 12—his fourth double-digit strikeout game of the year. Also named to the Golden Spikes Award Midseason Watch List as he ranks top-25 in the NCAA in six different statistical categories, including ranking first in wins (6) and fifth in strikeouts (68).
Â
Position Player: Giving Campbell its second conference weekly award last week, centerfielder Connor Denning earned Big South Player of the Week honors after hitting .444 with three multi-hit games last week. His biggest moment last week came as he blasted a go-ahead two-run homer against Old Dominion last Tuesday. He enters the weekend, hitting .245 (24-of-98) with 13 extra-base hits—eight doubles and three homers.
