Logan Patete Set to Compete in the 2022 USATF U20 Outdoor Championships

SPARTANBURG, S.C.- Logan Patete qualified to compete in the steeple chase at the 2022 USATF U20 Outdoor Championship. The event will be held from June 24^th to June 26^th at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon. Patete will run on June 25^th at roughly 8:13 p.m. EDT.

Patete competed in the steeplechase during both the indoor and outdoor track & field seasons. His performance at the Big South Championship earned him a fourth-place finish in the steeplechase. Patete holds the current Upstate record for the steeplechase with a time of 9:08.55.

In addition to his successful track season, Patete had an immaculate cross country season. Patete was named the Big South Cross Country Freshman of the Year, the first Freshman of the Year honor for a Spartan since Upstate joined the Big South in 2018.
