Series History  
Upstate and App State have only crossed paths one time before which was during the 2021 season. The Spartans traveled to Boone, N.C. and fell 2-1 to the Mountaineers. Captain Ashley Finn scored her first goal of the 2021 season during the 87th minute of the match to close App State's lead to one goal. Both Upstate and App State go into this match-up with a 0-0-1 record after Upstate tied Davidson 1-1 and App State tied Liberty 0-0.  

Last Match   

USC Upstate took the field on Thursday night to play Davidson in its 2022 season home opener and walked away with a tie. The Spartans were able to get the first goal of the game courtesy of Ellie Arnold's accuracy on a free kick just outside the 18-yard-box. This was not only the first goal of the season but also Arnold's first career goal. The Wildcats were able to rally back making the game 1-1 in the 59th minute of the game.  

   
  
UP Next for the Spartans  
Upstate will continue its home stint with Hampton, Tues. August 23 and ETSU, Sun. August 28. Following the home series, Upstate will then hit the road to play The Citadel in Charleston on Friday, Sept. 2.
