CONWAY, S.C. – Better a bit late than never.
A bit of bad weather delayed the regular season opener for USC Upstate, but the Spartans did face off with the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers as planned on a drizzly Friday night.
Play ended with a score lopsided 4-1 in the Chanticleers favor but transfer junior Andrin Zumbuhl scored the Spartan's first goal at the 76
th minute of the contest.
The Spartans are now 0-1-0 on the year and have fallen to 1-3-0 in the Division-I era series with the Chanticleers.
