SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- The USC Upstate men's soccer team is set to host the Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs for their final home Big South matchup of the season.

How They Stack UP 

USC Upstate (4-8-2, 1-3-1 Big South) vs Gardner-Webb (2-6-4, 0-1-3 Big South) with seven common opponents between the two teams: South Carolina, Furman, Winthrop, NC State, Presbyterian, ETSU, and High Point. The Spartans hold a 1-4-2 record against those teams while the Bulldogs hold a 1-4-2 record as well, with ties against High Point and PC.

The Spartans and Bulldogs have met 13 times, with the Spartans down in the series 5-7-1. The Spartans most recently won at Gardner-Webb last year by a score of 2-1 but haven't won at home since the 2016 season.

Players to Watch 

Braiden Hall is coming off a strong 2-goal performance against the College of Charleston. The sophomore is now tied for the most goal in the Big South with 6. In the win at Gardner-Webb last season, Felipe Marty recorded a penalty goal and Jeremy Montero assisted Brody Williams on the winning score in the 36th minute.  

Scoring is evenly distributed for the Bulldogs as five players have at least two goals each. Both Santiago Hoyos and Pablo Primeux have 21 shots on the season, but the former has 12 shots on goal to Primeux's 11.  

Last Match Out 

The Spartans attempted a late rally behind Braiden Hall's brace, but would ultimately fall 5-2 to the College of Charleston 

Gardner-Webb was able to rest without a midweek match and most recently battled the High Point Panthers to a 1-1 draw in Boiling Springs.
