Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer Falls at Home for First TIme This Season After 4-2 Loss to Presbyterian

SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- The USC Upstate men's soccer team will have to wait a bit longer for their first win in conference play as the Presbyterian Blue Hose won their first match in Spartanburg since 2008 by a score of 4-2.  

Braiden Hall notched his second goal in three matches early as he capitalized on a penalty kick in the fifth minute. Presbyterian tied in the eleventh minute and the first 45 ended with the two teams tied.  

Presbyterian would be awarded two penalty kicks in the first 10 minutes of the second half to take a 3-1 lead. That lead grew yet again in the 60th minute as the Bue Hose found their fourth goal of the afternoon. Dzenan Cerimagic would record his second goal of the season in the final seconds of the match, but the Spartans would ultimately fall 4-2.

42' - Max Edwards picks up the final shot of the half. The Spartans would hold an 11-4 advantage in shots in the first half.  

49' - Presbyterian breaks the tie early in the second half 

53' - The Blue Hose gets another goal, their second penalty goal of the match 

60' - Presbyterian gets their final goal of the match 

89' - Dzenan Cerimagic gets the final goal of the match with 30 seconds remaining, but the Spartans fall 4-2

  • Braiden Hall is tied for the team lead in points with seven. 

  • Hall recorded his third straight match with 3+ shots.  

  • Jeremy Montero recorded six shots in the match, his second most of the season 

  • The 18 shots taken by the Spartans are their most this season since they took 15 at High Point
