The Spartans made some changes in the starting lineup against NC State, opting to start another midfielder in Luke Halkett and giving Carson Hickok a start as well. Hickok went the distance on the night, picking up the fifth complete match of his career. A trio of freshmen have continued to record consistent minutes as Adrian Panaite, Luke Marin and Dzenan Cerimagic all played 30+ minutes on the night. In the net, Cooper Jennings currently leads the Big South in saves as he's picked up eight through two matches.
As for the Chanticleers, Deryn Armstrong and Chrisitan Cook are responsible for the team's two goals against William & Mary. The two also lead the team in shots, recording a combined ten of the team's total 26. Kilian Vallant looks to be the final line of defense for the Chanticleers as the keeper from Austria has picked up eight saves on 22 shots this season.
Last Match Out
The Spartans went on the road to face NC State and fell 3-0 in Raleigh. In what was once a tied match, the Spartans were outshot 19-5 over the total 90 minutes. Cooper Jennings picked up six saves in the outing, the most since Luca Bulfon picked up the same number last year in the Big South semi-final against High Point.
Coastal Carolina picked up the first win of their season in a 2-1 home match with William & Mary. The Chanticleers were outshot 14-11 in the match but had the best shots as they doubled their visitors on the scoreboard.
