Men's Basketball Completes 2023-24 Schedule as the Big South Announces the League's Conference Slate

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – After announcing the team's 13-game non-conference slate in late August, USC Upstate men's basketball, in accordance with the Big South Conference, completed its 2023-24 schedule with the announcement of the league's conference schedule Wednesday afternoon.
For the second consecutive season, the Big South uses a mirrored schedule for conference play, meaning on each conference date the Upstate men's and women's programs face the same opponent at opposite locations. The lone exception to the rule is when the Spartans play their travel partner Gardner-Webb with those two dates being a men's and women's doubleheader. The slate features 16 games with each team appropriated two open dates over the schedule's nine-week duration.
Upstate opens Big South play on the road in the first meeting of the Ingles I-26 Rivalry, travelling to UNC Asheville on Jan. 3. The Spartans return home on Jan. 6, hosting Winthrop at the G.B. Hodge Center for the team's first home game of the new year.
Week two of the conference season features just one game for the Spartans as the team's first "bye" hits during the week. Upstate travels to Charleston Southern on Jan. 10 to close the week before returning home on Jan. 17 to host Longwood and returning to the road on Jan. 20 at Radford.
Returning home, the Spartans host High Point on Jan. 24 before seeing their first doubleheader date of the season, heading to Gardner-Webb on Jan. 27. The first rotation of the team's schedule completes the month of January as Upstate travels to Presbyterian on Jan. 31.
The month of February brings Upstate's second rotation of its Big South foes, opening at the G.B. Hodge Center and hosting Radford on Feb. 3. The Spartans return to the road on Feb. 7, travelling to Longwood before closing the week against rival UNC Asheville at home on Feb. 10.
Valentine's Day sees the Spartans head back on the road, competing at High Point—the home of the 2024 Big South Men's Basketball Championship. Upstate continues its league slate with two consecutive home games, hosting Gardner-Webb and Charleston Southern on Feb. 17 and Feb. 21, respectively.
With the season winding down, the Spartans' penultimate game sees Upstate travel to Winthrop on Feb. 24 before wrapping the season on Feb. 28 at the G.B. Hodge Center against Presbyterian.
Game times and broadcast information for all men's basketball contests during the 2023-24 season will be released at a later date.
