Players to Watch
Braiden Hall and Jeremy Montero combined for nine of the Spartan's 15 shots in their 1-0 loss to Coastal Carolina. That duo will look to continue to create opportunities for Upstate moving forward. Defensively, center back Elijah Jackson continues to rack up the minutes as he is the only non-keeper to play all 270 minutes of the season. Cooper Jennings has back-to-back matches with 5+ saves and currently sits atop the Big South in total saves with 12 and has the highest save percentage in the conference among keepers who have played three matches so far this season.
It has been a one buccaneer show in terms of scoring for ETSU as Gabriel Ramos has both goals of their goals on the season. Izzy Garcia and Sebastian Reventlow picked up an assist each on Ramos' goals as well. In the net, both Cole Hunter and Marc Kouadio have played full matches, but it was Hunter who picked up the shutout win against Georgia Southern in the ETSU season opener.
Last Match Out
Despite doubling their offensive production in the match, the Spartans fell 1-0 in a road match with Coastal Carolina.
ETSU has kept it close with some tough competition early in the year. They most recently dropped a 2-1 match against the North Carolina Tar Heels and fell in a 1-0 shutout to No. 3 Kentucky before then.
UP Next for The Spartans
The USC Upstate men's soccer team will have a bit of a breather after a busy week and a half. They are set to host the Georgia State Panthers next Tuesday, September 12 at 7:00 p.m.
