SPARTANBURG, S.C. – For the first time in the program's Division I era (2007-pres.), USC Upstate women's basketball hosts a multi-team event as it welcomes Bellarmine, Jackson State, and Morehead State to the Hub City for the Spartan Shootout Thanksgiving MTE. Competing in a Thanksgiving MTE for the second straight season, the Spartans face Morehead State Friday and Bellarmine Saturday with both games tipping at 3 p.m. ET.

Players to Watch
USC Upstate: Monday evening, senior forward Rebekah Gordon pulled in a career-best 23 rebounds, the third-most in Big South Conference and USC Upstate's Division I era (2007-pres.) history. Her 23 boards are the most in a single game by an NCAA player this season and increased her per-game rebounding average to 9.7, a mark that paces the Big South. Entering the weekend, she, essentially, averages a double-double at 10.3 points and 9.7 rebounds per game, both totals leading the Spartans.
 
Morehead State: Two Eagles enter the Spartan Shootout Thanksgiving MTE averaging 15.0-plus points per game as senior guard Aileen Marquez averages 15.8 points per game and sophomore guard Kate Novik averages 15.2 points per game. Marquez's scoring total comes behind a team-high 54.5 percent shooting performance from the field and 44.8 percent shooting from beyond the arc. Novik supplements her total with a team-best 7.8 rebounds per contest.
 
Bellarmine: Like Morehead State, two Knights begin the weekend averaging 15.0-plus points per game as graduate student guard Hayley Harrison and graduate student guard Hope Sivori average 16.1 and 15.0 points per game, respectively. Harrison leads Bellarmine in field goal percentage, shooting 49.4 percent from the floor, Sivori complements her scoring total with a team and ASUN-high 4.9 assists per game.
