FRIPP ISLAND, SC -- USC Upstate Women's Golf wrapped up their fall season with two players finishing in the top five out of a field of 41 players. Junior Rylie Kosney led the Spartans, tying for second place with rounds of 71-77-77, totaling 225. Close behind, teammate Alexis Rieli tied for fourth, carding rounds of 75-77-76 for a total of 228.
The Spartans finished with 27 birdies, tying for second place in that category. As a team, USC Upstate placed fifth overall, posting rounds of 306-318-319 for a score of 943. Three Spartans—Supatta Puttanavarat (80-90-79–249), Madison Dixon (80-81-88–249), and Grace Garner (84-87-78–249, individual)—ended the tournament tied for thirtieth. Puttanavarat excelled on par-5 holes, finishing fifth overall in par-5 scoring with a 4.93 average, and tied for third in birdies with nine. Eliza Whiteside rounded out the scoring with rounds of 82-83-87, totaling 252.
The team title went to the Wofford Terriers, who finished at +15 with rounds of 310-307-303 for 920. Gardner-Webb senior Neza Siftar claimed the individual title with a score of -2, carding rounds of 75-77-70 for a total of 222. Siftar separated herself from a tightly packed top five with a final-round 70, the day's best score.
The Spartans conclude their fall season and will begin spring play in January 2025.
