Players to Watch
Upstate: After claiming the Big South Regular Season title for the first time and the program's first conference title since 2001, the Spartans were ranked number one in the Big South tournament. Upstate enters the semifinal game with eight conference accolades, including Offensive Player of the Year Dara Russo and Midfielder of the Year, Margret Edda Bjarnadottir. Russo leads the Spartans in points with 19, netting seven goals and tallying five assists in the regular season. Nya Baccelli leads Upstate in goals with eight. Paige Armstrong has also been key for the Spartan offense, totaling four goals and two assists. Goalkeeper Meghan Groah has been a force in between the pipes, making 39 saves on the season.
 
Presbyterian: The Blue Hose enter the tournament seeded fifth, advancing to the semifinal game after defeating Longwood in penalty kicks 4-2. Marie-Lina Müller leads Presbyterian in points with 11, netting four goals while tallying three assists. Sloan Spees adds an equal number of goals and assists on the season with three. Goalkeeper Kelly Hall has made 103 saves.
 
UP Next for the Spartans
With a win, the Spartans will advance to the championship game on Sunday, November 10 at 1:00 pm. They will face the winner of the #2 High Point vs. #3 Radford semifinal game.
