SPARTANBURG, S.C. – After two home tournaments and three tournaments on the road, the USC Upstate softball program returns home to begin Big South conference play this Friday and Saturday against the Radford Highlanders.

USC Upstate: After the completion of the early season tournaments, junior Denver Lauer currently leads the Spartans offense with 12 runs, 20 hits, two doubles, four homeruns, 21 RBI, 34 total bases and 14 stolen bases. Lauer sits with a .308 batting average, .387 on base percentage, and .523 slugging percentage. Freshman Sierra Maness has been the primary starter in the circle for the Spartans with 13 game appearances, 12 of which have been game starts. Maness has four wins, 69 strikeouts, and 73.0 innings pitched along with a 2.40 ERA.
Radford: The Highlanders are led on offense by Lexie Roberts with 19 runs, 29 hits, one double, one triple, three RBI, 32 total bases, and 12 stolen bases. Roberts sits with a .397 batting average, .410 on base percentage, and .438 slugging percentage. Abby Peace leads the Highlanders pitching staff with 13 game appearances, two wins, 43.2 innings pitched, and 26 strikeouts.

Following Upstate's first Big South series, the Spartans will stay local to take on the Wofford Terriers Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. before heading to Charleston for a three-game series Mar. 22-23.
