PAWLEYS ISLAND, SC – Alexis Rieli led the Spartans, who finished 17th at the Golfweek Fall Challenge at Caledonia Golf and Fish Club. After starting the final round in the top 15, Upstate struggled on the back nine as the wind picked up and a storm loomed in the area. The tournament's first round was also delayed by weather.
Overall, the Spartan women posted scores of 310-304-309, totaling 923. Rieli tied for 43rd at +5 overall after three rounds and ranked fourth on par 5s with a 4.83 (-2) scoring average. Close behind was sophomore Supatta Puttanavarat, who tied for 52nd. Rylie Kosney finished with a three-round score of 231, Grace Garner shot a 245, and Eliza Whiteside improved in each round, finishing with a 253.
Head Coach Todd Lawton said, "Alexis (Rieli) locked in and had to grind through some tough situations to finish strong."
Campbell claimed the team title, finishing 2-under-par. The individual title went to New Mexico State's Emma Bunch, a Danish junior who fended off a late rally from multiple golfers to remain atop the leaderboard.
