
Cross Country Collects Three Big South Weekly Honors as Kelbert, Heusinger, and Ludwick as Recognized for Converse Kick Off Performances

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The USC Upstate cross program collected its second set of weekly awards of the 2024 season as Ian Kelbert was named the Male Runner of the Week, Jason Heusinger was named the Male Freshman of the Week, and Beth Ludwick was named the Female Freshman of the Week, as the conference announced its weekly honors Wednesday afternoon.Â
Kelbert had another dominant performance at the Milliken Research Center as he collected a 30th place finish with a time of 26:03.72. The Converse Kick Off was the second straight race Kelbert paced the men this season. Â
Heusinger collected a 75th place finish at the Converse Kick Off after trimming his 8k time down by four seconds and setting a new personal best. Â
Ludwick finished 23rd in the women's first 6k of the season and led the women for the third consecutive race this season. She collected the honor after finishing the 6k with a time of 23:10.14.Â
Upstate cross country has now collected five weekly awards this season after Cameron Moors was named Male Freshman of the Week and Kelbert was named Male Runner of the Week on September 11. Â
