SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Returning home following a two-game Big South Conference excursion, USC Upstate women's basketball ventures back to the G.B. Hodge Center for a renewal of the Ingles I-26 Rivalry Series, welcoming UNC Asheville to the Hub City for the first hardwood meeting in the rivalry during the 2024-25 campaign. The Spartans lead the series with the Bulldogs 12-11 in the program's Division I era (2007-pres.), winning three of the four games contested under head coach
Jason Williams.

Players to Watch
USC Upstate: The first Big South player in 2024-25 to earn the honor in consecutive weeks, redshirt freshman guard
Cassie Gallagher captured her league-best fourth Big South Freshman of the Week honor Monday afternoon. She added a pair of double-figure scoring games to her career-long streak of such contests, pushing the number to four consecutive for the Spartans. She enters play Wednesday leading all league freshmen in scoring during Big South play, averaging 13.3 points per game against conference foes.
UNC Asheville: One of two Bulldogs scoring in double-figures this season, senior guard Lalmani Simmons averages 11.4 points per game, scoring in double-figures in four of her past five games. She enters Wednesday's matchup shooting a team-high 42.2 percent from the field while totaling 19 assists, 14 steals, and three blocks. Coming off the bench Saturday, she played a season-high 36 minutes against Presbyterian, securing a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
