
Men’s Basketball returns to the G.B. Hodge Center to host High Point in Midweek Action

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - After a two-game road trip in Big South play, the Spartans return for some home cooking for a midweek conference matchup against High Point University Wednesday at 7:00 P.M. Upstate looks to slow the Panthers down on their homecourt and climb their way up the standings in the Big South.

Players to Watch
USC Upstate: Junior Forward, Breylin Garcia has manned the post with his competitive drive to score and crash the boards. Garcia also presents a drive to be the voice on the court to get his teammates in the right spots while getting to his. Breylin Garcia led with 12 Points and four rebounds in the matchup against Gardner-Webb. Garcia added his eighth double figure game of the season. Garcia is currently the fourth leading scorer on the team with 8.9 Points per game and is 14th in the Big South with 5.28 rebounds per game. Already being named Big South Conference Player of the Week this season, Breylin Garcia looks to continue building his resume as a Spartan and flourish under Head Coach Marty Richter's system.
High Point: Junior Forward, Kimani Hamilton comes into the matchup as the second leading scorer on the team and recently added his season-high with 26 Points in the conference win over Presbyterian. Hamilton currently averages 13.8 Points per game (#14 in the Big South) with a 29 three-point shooting clip and 5.1 rebounds per game (16th in the Big South). The Panthers will lean on his scoring and intensity through the matchup on Wednesday as High Point looks to move their win streak to two.

After a quick trip home, USC Upstate will return to road play as the Spartans travel to Virginia against conference opponent Longwood University on Saturday, January 25th with a scheduled tip for 3:00 P.M. ET.
