CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Adding to a historic season as preparations for the Big South Volleyball Championship continue, USC Upstate volleyball adds a program-record All-Conference award haul as the Big South Conference announced its yearly award winners and all-conference selections Wednesday afternoon. The Spartans captured five All-Big South selections and one major conference award, winning one such award in consecutive years for the first time since the 2000-01 seasons.
 
Headlining Upstate's haul, sophomore setter Kamyla Vega David became the Spartans' first-ever Setter of the Year winner, leading all Big South setters in total assists (1089)—ranked 13^th in the NCAA in the category—and assists per set (10.37)—ranked 22^nd in the NCAA in the category. She also captured First Team All-Big South honors, teaming with Upstate's first-ever four-time All-Conference recipient, senior middle blocker Ady O'Grady, to become the first set of Spartan teammates named First Team All-Conference in the same season. O'Grady also added Big South All-Academic Team honors.
 
A trio of Upstate freshmen each captured their first career honors as freshman outside hitter Summer Kohler earned a Second Team All-Big South nod, freshman middle blocker Kensley Haneline earned an Honorable Mention All-Big South nod, and freshman libero Sophia Overholt earned an Honorable Mention All-Big South nod. All three players also slotted on the league's All-Freshman Team, the most individual All-Freshman Team players in a single season in program history.
