SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Beginning its three-game stretch against SoCon competition, USC Upstate women's basketball faces its penultimate road contest during the non-conference portion of its slate, heading to Western Carolina for some early-morning hoops. Tipping off at 11 a.m.—the second of three Education Day games for the Spartans this season—the Spartans and Catamounts meet for the fifth consecutive season and 11^th time overall, seeking to break the 5-5 deadlock in the series.

Players to Watch
USC Upstate: Canning 25 treys and hitting 51.0 percent from distance, redshirt sophomore guard Cassie Gallagher enters Wednesday's game as the Spartans' leading scorer, averaging 16.6 points per game, ranking second in the Big South in scoring. She's strung together five straight double-figure scoring games, dropping 22 and 17 against Montreat and Kennesaw State, respectively, last week. She supplements her scoring with 28 rebounds (3.1 per game), 12 assists, four blocks, and two steals.
 
Western Carolina: In her first season with the Catamounts, redshirt sophomore guard Ally Hollifield paces her team in scoring, averaging 13.1 points per contest. The Memphis transfer posts double-figures in eight of her nine games this season, including in back-to-back contests against Clemson and Temple. Hollifield also leads Western Carolina with 35 assists on the year, ranking second in the Big South in the category.
