Players to Watch
USC Upstate: Junior Outfielder, Amie Johnson is currently having her best statistical season in a Spartans uniform already surpassing her numbers from her sophomore year and on track to continue passing in other categories. The Junior from Batesburg-Leeville, South Carolina anchors the left field with diving catches and relentless effort to consistently make sure the opposing offenses don't have a chance at getting on base. In 30 games played, Johnson has added 27 hits, 20 runs scored, 22 RBIs (Career High), eight stolen bases, two doubles all while having a .355 batting average. Johnson adds much experience to Upstate's lineup and is ranked #11 in the Big South with her batting average while being ranked #4 for sacrifice bunts. East Tennessee will see an in-depth lineup with Amie Johnson being featured in that batting order.
East Tennessee State: Senior Infielder, Cameron Young has an extensive resume being named All-SoCon through three seasons and currently leading the Buccaneers with a .459 batting average. Young leads ETSU with 34 hits while adding seven doubles, 17 RBIs, one home run, and 18 runs scored. In Young's last game, she added ninth multi-hit game of the season with her season high being four hits against Maine. Cameron Young will look to provide much needed depth for the Buccaneers to snap their losing streak and overcome the Spartans at home.
