SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Following a midweek battle against crosstown rival, Wofford College, USC Upstate Softball returns to Big South Conference play as the Spartans travel to Viriginia for their weekend series at Radford.

Players to Watch 

USC Upstate: Junior Infielder, Carson Shaw has helped the Spartans at bat with a .317 batting average, 32 hits, eight doubles, four home runs, 11 runs scored, and 29 runs batted in. Shaw's experience has continued to blossom for Upstate while being reliable at first base with a .996 fielding percentage and 240 putouts. Carson Shaw can get on base with an infield hit or knock it out of the park with an instant homerun. Shaw has already surpassed some of her stats from her sophomore season with 32 hits, eight doubles, and 240 putouts. Radford will have a tough task in front as far as containing Upstate's lineup that includes Carson Shaw. 

Radford: Sophomore Infielder, Amanda Lee leads the Highlanders with 34 hits, three doubles, one home run while adding a .333 batting average, 13 runs batted in, 18 runs scored and seven stolen bases. Lee is ranked #8 in the Big South in the hitting category. Lee will look to challenge Upstate's pitching staff through the three-game series and snap Radford's losing streak.

Following the weekend series at Radford, Upstate Softball returns to the Hawkins Field at Cyrill Stadium for an afternoon doubleheader with South Carolina State with game one beginning at 2:00 P.M. and game two to follow at 4:00 P.M.
