Baseball Adds Three Weekly Award Winners to Yearly Haul as Wylie Waters, Amp Phillips, and Henry Zenor Earn Honors

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – For the second straight week and third time during the 2025 campaign, USC Upstate baseball finds itself capturing multiple Big South Conference weekly awards as Wylie Waters, Amp Phillips, and Henry Zenor bring home Player, Starting Pitcher, and Freshman of the Week nods, respectively, with the league announcing its weekly winners Monday afternoon.

A native of Vancouver, British Columbia, Waters captured his first career Big South Player of the Week honor after proving Upstate's leading run producer in the team's series versus Winthrop, driving home 13 of the team's 46 runs in the three-game set. He capped a week that saw him slash .583/.600/1.250 with his first career multi-homer game in the series finale against the Eagles. With four or more RBI in each game of the weekend series, Waters is the first Spartan this season to record four-plus RBI in all three games of a series.

Phillips, a Lancaster, S.C. native, earned his second straight Big South Starting Pitcher of the Week nod following his second consecutive quality start. He limited Winthrop to three hits and one run over 6.0 innings Saturday, earning the win as Upstate secured the series victory. Phillips held the Eagles scoreless over 5.1 innings, striking out five on the evening, including a pair of innings seeing multiple punchouts.

A St. Louis, Mo. native, Zenor's latest Big South Freshman of the Week nod marks the second of his career, earning his latest honor after slashing .636/.722/1.000 on the week. The table setter atop the Spartans' lineup, he began the week drawing a career-best three walks at South Carolina before returning Friday with a 3-for-4 effort, finishing a triple shy of the cycle. On the week, Zenor totaled seven hits, six walks, six runs, and five RBI.
