USC Upstate: Sophomore Pitcher, Sierra Maness has continued to rise to the occasion being a two-time Big South Pitcher of the Week while shattering her numbers from her Freshman season. Maness currently leads the Big South in wins (17) while also leading with a 1.91 ERA. Maness has made 28 appearances and started 21 games through 128.0 innings pitched and striking out 92 batters. Sierra Maness has full confidence regardless to retire a batter while having a dependable defense with a .972 fielding percentage. Maness will be a player that Western Carolina and conference opponents, Gardner-Webb and Longwood will have to watch for as the season continues to progress.
Western Carolina: Sophomore Infielder, Lily Bell currently leads the Catamounts with a .443 batting average, 58 hits, seven doubles, and two triples. Bell is the lone Western Carolina player batting over .400 and recently had a five-game hitting streak. Bell showcases a willingness to get on base with a .519 on-base percentage while posing a threat with 24 stolen bases. Bell will look to halt the series streak against USC Upstate while helping the Catamounts get back to their winning ways.

Wrapping up the final home midweek game at Cyrill Stadium, Upstate Softball will make quick trip to Boiling Springs, North Carolina for a Big South conference weekend series against Gardner-Webb beginning Friday, April 18th at 4:00 P.M. and wrapping up Saturday April 19th with a doubleheader at 2:00 & 4:00 P.M.
