FRIPP ISLAND, S.C. – USC Upstate women's golf competed in the Big South Championship Sunday through Tuesday. The team finished fifth overall in stroke play with a total score of 939, showcasing resilience in the final round.
Round one was led by
Madison Dixon, who posted a score of 76. She was followed by
Alexis Rieli and
Grace Garner who each shot a 78.
In the second round,
Alexis Rieli finished the day with a 72, highlighted by four birdies.
Madison Dixon and
Rylie Kosney followed with 79 respectively.
The final round showed a strong back nine performance from Kosney, including three birdies for a total of 74.
Eliza Whiteside was the other Spartan with a strong performance on day three, posting a 77.
Grace Garner had three birdies in her final round of collegiate golf.
On the individual leaderboard, three Spartans finished in the top 25.
Rylie Kosney tied for 14,
Alexis Rieli placed 17, and
Madison Dixon finished tied for 21.
Earning an All-Conference Honorable Mention was
Rylie Kosney. The All-Academic team will be announced by the Big South on Thursday.
