USC Upstate: Senior Outfielder, Denver Lauer is currently on a four-game hitting streak through Upstate's winning streak including her last three games being three consecutive multi-hit games. Lauer is currently second the team in hitting category with 59 with a .396 batting average. Through 44 games played, Lauer has only had nine games that she did not record a hit. The impact of Denver Lauer has continued to be a key piece for Upstate's success through the season with 21 stolen bases, 41 runs scored, a team leading RBI of 55, .604 slugging percentage, and six home runs. Gardner-Webb will look to halt Lauer at the plate and to cool down the hot streak shown by Denver Lauer in the upcoming weekend series.
Gardner-Webb: Junior Infielder, Ella Christopher is currently having her best statistical year with a .342 batting average, 50 hits, five home runs, .527 slugging percentage, 30 runs scored, 28 runs batted in, and a .374 on-base percentage. Christopher is ranked #4 in the Big South in the hitting category and her season-high of four hits against Sacred Heart. The Spartans will look to neutralize Christopher at the Brinkley Softball Stadium through the three-game weekend series beginning Friday, April 18.
